Cushion packaging materials should have what performance?

May 21, 2018

Buffer packaging materials have the performance:

1. Determine the vibration absorption capability of the packaging material.

In addition to the impact force generated by external forces during the transportation, handling, and loading and unloading of articles, it is also subject to the acceleration when the vibration occurs. The vibration external force causes the packaging product to have a resonance phenomenon, increasing the amplitude and easily causing damage. For this reason, the cushioning material should have an external force that absorbs vibration to achieve attenuating vibration performance.

2. Test the resilience of the packaging material.

After the load is applied to the cushioning material, deformation occurs. When the applied load is removed, the degree of deformation of the material disappears and the original shape is recovered. This is called recovery. The material load is subject to long-term static pressure load and impact, vibration load, the difference between the two, the former is static recovery, the latter is dynamic recovery, for the absorption of energy and poor recovery material is not suitable as a buffer material.

3. Evaluate the impact energy absorption of the packaging material.

The general hard buffer material has a large impact energy absorption and is suitable for applications where the impact force is small. The buffer material should be able to absorb the energy generated by the impact, but should pay attention to the size of the material's absorption performance and the impact energy received. To adapt to it, it is by no means the better the material that absorbs more. Therefore, when selecting the buffer material, appropriate materials should be selected based on the stress-strain curves of various materials.

Looking at the current market for cushioned packaging, there are traditional cushioning materials such as foam, EPE, and paper. However, these materials are generally resistant to impact, and it is difficult to achieve the buffering effect produced during modern transportation. Products are easily damaged; The material package is not neat and the grade is low.

The new cushioning material - inflatable bag, fundamentally changed this situation, first the composition of the inflatable bag is made of PE and nylon, nylon has excellent tensile and recovery properties; In addition, the inflatable bag is made of 99% air and 1 The film is composed of %, while the air has excellent impact energy and vibration absorption, and the compressibility is very strong. Moreover, the inflatable bag meets the seventh category of environmental protection resource recovery, can be naturally degraded or recycled, and is environmentally friendly, not only cater to consumption. The environmental protection psychology of the person, but also conforms to the requirements of the development of the times. To this end, inflatable bags as a new type of environmentally friendly materials, is bound to emerge in the buffer package!
